Ferienhotel Berger - Füssen, Germany

Southern Bavaria is a common destination for those traveling to Germany. Füssen is one such Bavarian town that features history, mountains, and castles. While visiting such a tourist prone area, it can be difficult to find a budget friendly hotel or if you do find a budget friendly hotel, it is often of lesser quality. This is not the case with the Ferienhotel Berger.

Located in the heart of Füssen, the Ferienhotel Berger is a short walk from a variety of attractions. Stroll along the well kept river walk to the historic town center to enjoy a variety of shops, restaurants, and churches. See our recommendation for Chapeau. It is also a short drive from the famous Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles, multiple hiking locations, as well as lakes and rivers making it a wonderful location for any of the area attractions.

Once in the hotel, you will find a spacious breakfast area serving a lovely German buffet style breakfast. The spread of dried fruits, yogurts, meats, and cheeses will satisfy every taste. Continuing through the lobby to the rooms, you may find it a less desirable option if you are mobility impaired. The lift does not start until on the 2nd floor, requiring you to climb a flight of stairs. If you have no problem with a few stairs, you will have no issue with this hotel. The rooms are quite spacious. Our room offered both a toilet and shower room, as well as closets, a sitting area, and a very large balcony. The balcony had splendid views of the mountains. Rooms were generally quiet in the evenings and each room had a mini fridge for your convenience, though drinks did cost extra (as is typical). Wifi was free, however it was fairly spotty in the room. It worked great in common areas and we had no complaints since it was free. Parking is a bit tight, but that seemed to be the case throughout European hotels. We plan to return here and stay longer next time and would recommend this lodging for anyone in the area, though it may be more difficult for business travel if internet is required.
