Working from home has given us the chance to test several computer setups, microphones and headsets in a quest to find something that fits both the budget and our working needs. Many affordable headsets are just plain uncomfortable and don't hold up well to regular use.
The NPET CH10 USB headset is in the affordable category running right around $25 at time of posting. This computer headset actually has headphones on both sides vs many that have a earpiece on one side only. This helps with audio quality as well as comfort. The microphone is adjustable to best fit your speaking preference along with an adjustable headband so it should fit any size head.
The USB headset actually comes with both USB and 3.5mm plugin options so either can be used. The USB allows for a longer cord length as well as protection against pulling on the computer should you forget you're wearing your headset.
The hand control has volume up/down, as well as mic and speaker on/off buttons and a mute indicator. The sound quality on both the microphone side and listening side are excellent. We actually had to reduce the volume on the computer since it carried so well through the headphones. The headset is under 1 pound and should work with most PCs, tablets, phones, etc. The only possible downside is the cord diameter. It isn't much thicker than other budget friendly options so the cord may wear out faster than very expensive headsets.
