Naturelo Organic Vegan Prenatal Vitamins Review

Prenatals seem like they should be standardized and all be similar but that is far from true. I've tried several over the past year and today I'll focus on the Naturelo Prenatal Vitamins.

WHAT I LIKE

Naturelo Prenatal Multivitamins are vegan and gluten free. I have an egg and wheat intolerance making many vitamins options unusable as they either source ingredients containing these or are contaminated in the packaging process.

These don't upset my stomach, a huge plus for those with morning sickness (but they may affect everyone differently).

These seemed fairly priced. They are around ~$40/2 months or $20/month. This is much more expensive than typical store brands or mainstream brands, but well under what other organic/vegan vitamin brands are charging.

They list ingredient/sources for each vitamin and I believe they are all the most absorbable forms.

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE

They smell like seaweed/algae. I know this is a source for the DHA, but it can be a bit strong and off putting especially in the first trimester. This didn't translate to the taste for the first bottle I had, but the 2nd bottle didn't taste great. I think this was because one capsule broke open and spilled powder over the others.

There are 3 pills to take each day. This can be a plus and a minus. It is more to take each day, but I've heard this can help with nutrient uptake to spread the vitamins throughout the day (breakfast, lunch, dinner) vs all at once.

It seems somewhat low in Calcium and Magnesium. I take an additional calcium supplement. You might be fine if you drink enough milk or eat more dairy.
