It doesn't work great for harder vegetables (carrots, etc), but was great for zucchini and I think would work for smaller potatoes as well. It was pretty self explanatory and easy to get started using. The top cap is useful when you get towards the bottom of the zucchini, but I wouldn't use until you can't hold on to the vegetable any longer as it was harder to handle than just using your hands.
You can only use smaller diameter vegetables or you'll have to cut them in half to use this spiralizer. It also is a heck of an arm workout to use. While it may sound like mostly rough comments, it does in fact produce nicely sized noodles and it super affordable (<$10) compared to other options (OXO >$30). I would recommend trying this before buying a more expensive version or an electronic one.
