Fall is here again and that means it's time for tea drinking! Not that you can't drink tea all year, but I tend to leave off when the temperatures warm up. I've been trying a lot of different types of tea and even making my own tea, but there are some things that just don't grow well in my area. Lavender is one of these things.
That means I have to look elsewhere for a good organic tea. Herbaly is brand I like since they are always organic and vegan (teas should be vegan right?), and overall seem to source their ingredients well. This particular one is a blend of sencha, turmeric, dandelion root, stevia, lavender, ginger, fennel, and tulsi.
It claims to be anti-inflammatory, immune and metabolism boosting, aiding in digestion, along with reducing anxiety and helping to naturally control blood sugar. Now, I can't speak to each benefit, but I can say that it is a strong, but nice flavored tea. You definitely don't want to over brew this one as it can be quite overpowering, That being said a good 3-5 minute steep is just about perfect. As for the other benefits, I think tea drinking in general reduces my anxiety, but I do think it helps stabilize blood sugars. I know I don't have quite the crash if I wait too long to eat when I drink this versus the days I have other teas.
The tea bags are high quality and you can seed the individual herbs and seeds in the bag. It doesn't have a string, but that also means less waste. Overall, I like this one, but it is on the more expensive side.
