Wonderful Stay at Seeweg Berggasthof

This wonderful little bed and breakfast was a nearly perfect stay while we were in Oberstdorf, Germany. The room was quite large,  provided a sitting area to the side of the sleeping area and featured views of the mountains. While it is located ~10 minutes form Oberstdorf City Center, it is surrounded by attractions.

They also have a bus stop close by and provide a card which allows free parking in town. This guest card also gives you great discounts on nearby attractions such as the gondola systems for the surrounding mountains and the Allgäu Coaster seen in the review video, which is located steps away from the lodging. As the coaster is operated from 10am-6pm, nights were still very quiet. To the other side of the hotel is located the Söllereck Mountain as well as the bergbahn gondola system to take you to the top where you will find restaurants, playgrounds, Der Kletterwald am Söllereck,  hiking trails, and skiing if you arrive in the winter.

The only downfall was the check-in time ends at 7 and the restaurant is not open into the evening. The check-in time seems reasonable, but can prove difficult to make if you get stuck in construction traffic like we did. The hosts were wonderful and we were still able get into our room the first night, though we arrived after 7. We were disappointed that we weren't able to try the restaurant as it was closed by the time we reached the hotel and was closed the following day. Based on the wonderful breakfast we had, I imagine all the food would be tasty.

Breakfast provided a wide array of meats, cheeses, local honey and jams, croissants, baked goods and breads, eggs, juices, as well as the usual cereals, coffees and teas. Service throughout our stay was wonderful and wifi was very reliable. Overall, the Berggasthof Seeweg offered great value and we would recommend it for families, couples, and solo travelers.
