Located just outside Baden-Baden, this hotel has all the character you could desire when visiting an older location without any of the cramped quarters. The rooms were spacious with comfortable beds, high quality toiletries (shampoo and soap), and a welcoming fruit tray. At night the room was silent.
The only thing we could think of as a negative would possibly be the location depending on the purpose of your trip. As it is outside of Baden-Baden, city nightlife would be more difficult to partake in. The restaurant is also closed one day a week, which may not be great if you aren't driving, though the public transportation is very reliable. The upper rooms were slightly musty, which is to be expected in older buildings in the area, but it cleared quickly upon opening a window.
Access to hiking trails was magnificent as the panoramaweg is located directly behind the hotel. Numerous other hiking trails are also accessible from the hotel. They also offer mini-golf, though this was not open on the day we arrived, but looked fun. The wifi worked well throughout the hotel and the grounds and was very reliable throughout the stay. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout. To top off the stay, in the morning they provided an excellent buffet breakfast along with choices of coffees, juices, and tea. As we arrived on the day reception and restaurant were closed, we were unable to try the restaurant, but judging by breakfast it would have been delicious.
